Michael is an experienced builder of innovative businesses. At Acxiom, he created a large digital data business by forming partnerships with leading media and technology companies like Facebook, Yahoo, and DIRECTV. Businesses he started at Digital Impact and Mitchell Madison combined analytics and media expertise to generate significant incremental revenues and profits for those companies.
A graduate of Harvard Business School, he studied the art of client service and analytics as a manager at McKinsey, and learned the media business as an early executive at ESPN.
Alan Nichols has a track record of building value and improving organizations through strategic thinking, viewing enterprises holistically, effective operational and financial leadership, and relationship building. At RightJoin, Alan is taking the lead in outreach to potential clients.
Alan’s industry expertise includes multiple C-level positions at digital media and communications companies including Chronicle Publishing (SFGate), Spin Media and BET, and in financial services as an operating partner at Golden Gate Capital and investment banker with Credit Suisse First Boston. Much of his work has been at the forefront of the transition from traditional to digital businesses. Alan has developed an expertise for helping drive success in growth markets in turmoil, instilling focus, clear communication, alignment of interests, integrity, energy and fun.
Alan is the father of three boys, an avid cyclist and skier, and a dedicated bassist.
